News and Announcements

Hello Everyone,

Due to the global health pandemic and current guidance from the State of Massachusetts, the MGSL Board of Directors has made the prudent decision to cancel our in-town softball season. While it may have been an easy decision regarding our public health safety, it was not taken lightly as the league was looking forward to providing another season of great experiences and memories for our players.

In order to address this lost season, the board is starting a plan to organize a Fall program to begin in September. As this is new territory for everyone, we do not yet have the details of what this could look like. We will continue to communicate as progress is made or if our direction needs to change based on future health saftey guidelines. All currently paid registration fees will be applied to the fall program. We will also re-open registration, at a later date, to accommodate any new players interested to join in the Fall.

If a refund of your registration is desired, please send an email to:

For those players involved in our travel team program, your coach will communicate with you regarding the status of that season.

Hello Everyone,

With yesterday’s news from Governor Baker on the closure of schools until May 4th, the Milford Girls Softball League has decided to postpone the start date of the in-town season to align with the reopening of school. Teams and coaches are being organized and will be finalized in the coming weeks. You should hear from someone regarding your daughter’s team by the middle of April.

Obviously this is a fluid situation and we will continue to stay up to date and communicate with you regarding any additional changes.

MGSL is a girls fastpitch softball league for residents of Milford Massachusetts. This is a recreational league for players in grades Kindergarten through 7th. Registrations for the league open January 1st and ends March 15th. The 2020 season starts April 27th.

We also have a travel program for girls ages 8-17 that offers players a chance to play at a more competitive level than the in-town program. Milford fields teams at the 10U, 12U, 14U & 16U divisions. Opportunities exist to field a team at the “A” & “B” level for each division. The program consists of play in the Twin Valley League as well as 4-5 weekend tournaments throughout Spring and Summer. Tryouts for the travel program take place in the Fall.

The Twin Valley Girls’ Softball League is a recreational fastpitch softball league for girls ages 8 through 18. The league is represented by 24 towns in the Twin Valley region of Massachusetts. Milford fields teams in the 10U and 12U divisions. The league starts in June and it runs for 4 weeks with 2 games played per week. Most games start at 6:00 PM and travel to other towns is required. There are playoffs for all divisions except 10U-B. An all-star game is played for the 10U & 12U divisions mid-way through the season. Visit the Twin Valley website for more info on the league-
